In April, 23 the Commemorative Round Table “Ukrainian Crimea: Past and Present” was held in the framework of marking of the important historic events of Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Crimea liberation from the Bolshevik occupation, was initiated by the Mission of the President of Ukraine in ARC with the support of the Kherson State University.
At the round table the participants discussed the heroic event of those times and successful operation run by Petro Bolchan in 1918, the comparisons were made with a current annexation policy of Russian Federation, discussed the ways of de-occupation and re-integration of Crimea, stressing on the necessity for close cooperation with a law enforcement and governmental bodies.
The participants of the event were the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the ARC Borys Babin, his First Deputy Izet Gdanov, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada Hanna Hopko, the newly elected rector of the Kherson State University, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Olexander Spivakovsky, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Palamarchuk, the Head of the Department of the National and Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Mykola Lyachovych, historian, publicist, expert on Crimean Humanitarian Studies Sergiy Gromenko, the Doctor of Law of Ukrainian Free University Mykola Kravchuk, the Moderator of the movement “Space of Freedom” Taras Shamaida, the officials of the Ukrainian Institute of the National Remembrance, the members of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People, representatives of the Higher Educational Establishments of Ukraine, scientists, historians and publicity, representatives of the Special Monitoring Mission of OSCE in Ukraine, the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine and other law enforcement bodies.
