On the 28th day of December, 2017, chief consultant of the Analytical and Information Service of the Mission Nadiia Yakovlieva took part in the presentation of project results «Overcoming hate speech with temporary occupied Crimea in the online-resources of Kherson region» and «Gender (in)equality in the city of Kherson – «in hate speech» held in the city of Kherson within the initiative «Hate speech in the Ukrainian mass media: identification and counteraction» implemented by Odessa Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Non-Governmental Organization «Committee of Voters of Ukraine» with the support of the Embassy of Germany. The representatives of public organizations, bloggers, experts and officials of the involved authorities took part in the event.
The research results on the available demonstrations of the speech of discrimination in relation to the internally displaced persons and population of the temporary occupied Crimea in the online-resources of local self-government authorities, local mass media, at the mundane level and even in the statements of the representatives of local government and the executive branch of Kherson region were presented. In September-December 2017 the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea also found a number of similar negative facts and took appropriate measures within the limits of its competence; the Mission is going to continue to identify cases of this kind and to collaborate in a relevant monitoring with involvement of the law-enforcement authorities.
