In August, 1 2018 the First Deputy of the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Izet Gdanov together with the officials of the Department of International Connections of the Mission participated in the meeting of the Working Group for preparation the Parliamentary Hearings “Improvement of the State Sanction Policy against the Persons Involved into Political Prosecution of the Citizens of Ukraine”. The meeting was held in Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations.
The participants of the meeting were the representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Prosecutor’s Office, and officials of the Parliamentary Committee and representatives of non-governmental organizations. The members of the Working Group discussed the mechanism of amending the legislation of Ukraine on sanctions to be applied; in particular it concerns the establishment of the deadlines for consideration of the proposals and the extending the list of the subjects to provide the proposals. The interaction among the non-governmental and state bodies, which are engaged into implementation of the sanctioning policy, was also discussed.
The Mission’s activity includes the current monitoring of the situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea which is resulted in certain proposals on sanctions to be submitted to the authorized institutions. Izet Gdanov stressed that the Mission is preparing the proposals on the amendments to the sanctioning legislation to submit them to the President of Ukraine for consideration in order to persecute the bodies which facilitate the Russian aggression in Crimea and from the peninsula.
