On 19 December 2019 Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro – Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR Crimea Anton Korynevych and the Chairman of Kherson State Regional Administration Yuriy Gusev opened a service zone at the checkpoint “Kalanchak”, located on the administrative boundary line between the Kherson region and temporarily occupied Crimea
The Vice Prime Minister stressed that the checkpoint including the service zone were temporal until the peninsula would be de-occupied and their functions would no longer be required ““Kalanchak” Service zone opened”
On 10 December 2019 in Brussels the 7th meeting brought together the higher officials of the European External Action Service, European Commission and Ukrainian delegation, headed by the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea Anton Korynevych.
The European Union and Ukraine discussed the consequences of the illegal attempted annexation of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The agenda also included panel discussions on security, human rights situation in the peninsula, including restrictive measures. The interlocutors agreed to continue further cooperation at the international level “Illegal attempted annexation of Crimea by Russia remains an important international agenda”
The Third Ukrainian Women’s Congress was launched on 10 December 2019 in Kyiv. The second session of the Congress discussed the empowerment of women in human rights field.
Tamila Tasheva noted that the women’s movement was, above all, about solidarity. The protest movement in Crimea has now a female face. Mothers, wives, sisters, daughters of the political prisoners, left without men, assumed all responsibility for families, including struggle to release their men ““Protest movement in Crimea has a female face”. Tamila Tasheva said”
On the Day of Dignity and Freedom, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged citizens to unite to build a new Ukraine together.
“The Day of Dignity and Freedom is special for each of us. It is related to the beginning of two revolutions, when the voices of millions of citizens merged into a single voice of the nation to say firmly: Ukrainians want and will live in a free, democratic and prosperous state. Dignity and freedom are essential components of our DNA. That is why Ukrainians truly know how to defend their dignity and fight for freedom on barricades. Unfortunately, in this fight, we paid the highest possible price – human life,” the President of Ukraine said during the events on the Day of Dignity and Freedom in Kyiv “Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Ukrainians know how to defend their dignity and fight for freedom in deed”
He noted that the Kherson office of the Mission will continue its work protecting the Crimeans’ rights. In particular it will promote the resolving of issues on obtaining of documents, temporarily housing, entering the Ukrainian higher educational establishments. At the same time the other office, located in the capital, is necessary for free-flowing communication with the central executive authorities, international organizations and foreign embassies.
“We will provide our activity in two cities to ensure effective assistance to our citizens, residing in the temporarily occupied territory and at the same time to keep free-flowing communication with central executive authorities, in other words, always be at the center of events to put the Crimean issues on the national agenda”, Anton Korynevych explained in the cause of the briefing, held at the Presidential Office “Anton Korynevych says: “Our objective is de-occupation of Crimea and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories””
Today, on 13 November 2019, a briefing of the updated team of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea took place in the Office of President of Ukraine.
During the briefing, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea Anton Korynevych emphasized the priorities of the Mission. “If we want to emphasize our strategy, I would stress on legislative work. It goes in line with our competences, determined by the Law of Ukraine on the Mission and relevant Presidential Decree. I mean, we will really try to become the institution, elaborating the drafts law necessary for Crimea and Crimeans. We have already had some developments and we will try to make them public. Clearly, we will work on the draft laws on human rights protection of the Crimeans, avoiding of so-called discriminatory provisions against Crimeans “Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea emphasized the priorities of the Mission”
Draft Conception for the national transitional justice as “road map” to overcome the consequences of the conflict and armed aggression will be made public in the near future, Darya Svyrydova, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea said
During the briefing, held at the Presidential Office, she noted that strategic goals of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea included among the others the development of the national concept for transitional justice as a way from overcoming the consequences of the armed conflict to transition to peace “Draft Concept of Transitional Justice will be made public in the near future, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea said”
“The Mission of the President of Ukraine in AR of Crimea initiates the creation of fund to support the talented children, residing in the peninsula”, Tamila Tasheva, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea announced during the briefing.
“Collaboration with people, residing in the peninsula including those who replaced from Crimea is very important for us. We will promote the creation of fund to support talented children, including cultural and educational endeavors from Crimea”, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea noted “The Mission of the President of Ukraine in AR of Crimea initiates the creation of fund to support talented children from the peninsula”
