During a working trip to the Kherson region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Chonhar checkpoint on the temporary administrative border with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. This is the first visit of the Head of State to the administrative border with the occupied Crimea since 2014.
The President inspected the infrastructure of the checkpoint and the conditions in which people cross the administrative border. The Head of State spoke with the citizens who were heading to the occupied Crimea and the inhabitants of the neighboring districts “Full equipment of the checkpoint on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea must be completed by December 20 – Volodymyr Zelenskyy”
On 13 July 2019 at the checkpoint “Chongar”, Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the new President Representative in the AR of Crimea during his working visit to Kherson.
Anton Korynevych expressed his deep gratitude for the honor to be appointed to a higher position, noting that Crimea is Ukraine, as the integral part of its territory. Crimeans are the citizens of Ukraine.
“We will make the best possible to keep the Crimean issue on the agenda, ensuring the protection of the Ukrainian citizens’ rights, residing in the temporarily occupied Crimea and IDPs from Crimea. Our priority is people and protection of their rights”, the Permanent Representative said “Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the new Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea”
